Holy One

When I come near You, Lord, with boldness,
Scripture-taught, I talk to You familiarly,
for son I am, Spirit-born, adopted !
Yet Father,You’re not the man next door,
but Lord of all, the Holy One !
Oh, tune my heart and give me pause
upon your threshold,
so, in my rush of words, I’ll be
deeply reverent.
