The Bottom Line

Suppose I’d had the cruellest blow,
no answers to my prayers:
Suppose the Word seemed dry as dust,
friends gone, I stood alone.
Suppose I didn’t dare to hope,
suppose my health was gone,
suppose I got so mad at You,
I didn’t want to know.
I don’t suppose that You
would fail to find me where I’d roam,
for the folk You call, You work with
and You’ve pledged to bring me home.
You’d lead me to repentance
and remind me what I know,
for, apart from You Lord Jesus,
there’s nowhere else to go.
