St.Paul said, “Lord, they know that…I imprisoned and beat those who believe in You. And when the blood of Your martyr Stephen was shed, I stood by, consenting to his death” Acts 22:19-20.

Bloodguiltiness

And as you, brother Paul, instinctively
opened your heart in deep contrition
for ugly, sinful past,
there flooded to you that Father-love,
intimation of sin forgiven
so you could face a different future,
unburdened of your guilt.
And do you know, that cleansing stream
came to me also, so many years ago,
that validation sure
our Saviour’s grace is quite unchanged !
No wonder you advise us all
‘Rejoice !’
