They clean forgot
Egypt, Babylon, Roman invader,
slave masters all, and yet
‘We’ve never been in bondage’ ! ! !
Amnesia convenient to make their point
as saying ‘No !’ to Jesus.
Poor victims of Satan’s cleverest stroke
the snare of mere religiosity !

Many years ago, in my deep need
there came to me Your Spirit;
gave me the grace to know, to hear
my Maker’s ‘Welcome Home !’
