St.Paul wrote, "Your glorying is not good. Do you
not know that a little leaven leavens the whole
lump? … Therefore let us keep the feast not with
the old leaven… but with the unleavened bread of
sincerity and truth" 1 Cor.5:6-8

Leaven

"Ah, go on now,
a nice little bit of leaven -
T’will do you good...".
The Tempter’s back, wheedling.
He knows a little bit of leaven
will set me back,
invading all of me
as once it did.
Help, Lord Jesus !
Christ, my Passover,
was sacrificed for me;
now the real, in-Christ, unleavened me
wants, oh wants and chooses,
sincerity and truth.
Give me Your hand, Lord !
