By faith, Abel offered to God……an offering, and God testified of his gift. Heb. 11:4.

Pleasing Gift

I really want to please You, Lord.
You who have been so good to me,
provided me with body, soul and spirit,
then fed my every part.

What offering should I bring
to say I love You ?
What, to show deep thankfulness ?
Seems Abel, shepherd, got it right,
gave You what lay to hand.

Be pleased, my God
to finger what I can bring
and let me hear, like Abel,
Your answering commendation
for I desire, ere fall of night,
to pleasure You !
