O, Spirit, speak to me so clearly
that ‘No !’ becomes impossible
seeing I call You ‘Lord’;
for You know well there’s that in me
which dithers and debates
when ‘Yes !’ is called for.

O, Spirit, lean on me
lest tardily my ‘Yes !’ should fail to meet
Your timeline for my life
and help me quickly to discern
Your way for me ‘midst clamouring inner voices,
so clearly bidden, I’ll always, confident, move
out of my comfort zone !
