Spirit of God, I thank you
for lancing through
to reach my inner being !

You showed me filthy rags-
my earthling garments-
brought me to my knees
in deep contrition,
then pointed me to Calvary
where bled the Lamb of God.

Spirit of God, I thank you
for daily prompting
lest, ‘spite my Robe of Righteousness’
I’d bring You grief.
O, aid me as I strive
for inner cleanliness.
Walk with me, gracious Spirit,
Trustworthy Guide !
