"Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And
not one of them falls to the ground apart from your
Father’s will…not one of them is forgotten before

Sparrows

A pair of sparrows, two small lives,
near valueless to men,
But He who made them watches
And keeps them in His ken.

Yet more: not even one shall fall
my Father’s will apart
to illustrate Your love for me,
my God, how great Thou art !

So unbelieving fear is out,
deep reverence is in
for such as I, who outcast was,
forgiven of my sin.

Should times be hard and I forget
the measure of Your care,
please mention sparrows to me then,
lest I come to despair.

Lord, help me joy in knowing
You’ll be my guard and guide
until, at last, I’m where you are,
forever by Your side
