"I called on Your name, O LORD, from the lowest pit
you have heard my voice. Do not hide Your ear

me near on the day I called on You and said ‘Do not

Fear’s Exit

One thing about Your word: its power to thrill,
to draw breathed thankfulness
from the believing heart.
Afraid, when I called out,
Your instant answer
came in tenderness, enveloped me.
Fear faded, took its bow,
peace dawned !
And then the thought:
how wonderful it is these present days,
same ageless God draws near,
same soothing touch,
same love-response to troubled ones of His,
Your seal upon Your word !
