Thy Kingdom Come

How often I have prayed
‘Thy will be done…’
with wish-it-would-happen mindset,
missing the implication…..

Lord, since so I pray,
since so I long
to see You reign right here and now,
honoured, reverenced, obeyed
in Kingdom splendour
here by Your grace I am,
bringing to You
my heart, my mind, my strength
such as they are, small contribution:
all I can do to make
Your Kingdom come.
