day in, day out,
at every turn,
to be invaded, pervaded
by loving Saviour-word.
But please, Your Spirit
must penetrate the callus
of common, pressing things
which weave their filaments
around my consciousness,
so sudden shaft of light
comes shining through
and I breathe ‘Yes, Lord?’
