He went up on the mountain and called to Him those He Himself wanted. And they came to Him. Mk. 3:19.

Jesus said: ‘I have other sheep which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear My voice…’ Jn. 10:16.

Other Sheep

Privileged twelve !
The ones He wanted;
saw in them
what He could use.

Supposing I were there,
would He want me, call me?
Would I disappoint Him,
or bring Him pleasure?
Called, would I hang back,
ungrateful?

I wasn’t there,
and live in latter days
yet not the loser !
for, gracious Lord
You’ve gone on calling
the ones You want.
Just fancy ! Jesus wanting me ! !

My Lord, my God,
whatever You’ve seen in me
that You can use,
O, grace me to bring it forth,
for You are worthy !
