The Helmsman

I’ve come to thank you, Job !
Your star turn’s patience, yes,
but as you sat
amongst the ashes,
you brought us gems
out of your store:
You divined the Helmsman-God !
It’s He who knows the shoals,
rocks, rapids, whirlpools, all
and spins the helm.
It’s He who steers my life.
O, Thank You, God, for I’m inadequate,
but You’ll be steering
my frail barque,
despite it all,
to Harbour !
